What kind of people are we looking to join?

Nice people who want to adventure and build. We encourage interaction among players, but it’s not mandatory. The most important part of TWS is having a good time!

How do I become a member?
  1. Log in as a Visitor and look around (you can wander and chat only)
    (woodenstick.world)
  2. Converse with locals if you like
  3. If you like what you see, log into the”General” discussion on the Discord server
  4. Join a voice channel with an Admin or Owner
  5. If none is available, leave a message and we can probably schedule a time to chat without more than a day or two of delay (sometimes immediate!)
  6. If you check out and pass muster, then welcome aboard!
What are the server ranks?
  • Visitor – can walk around and chat, but nothing else
  • Member – can build and play normally, this is a standard player
  • Donator – has instant TP, more homes, and other perks
  • Moderator – able to moderate rules and enforce standards
  • Admin – hands out rewards, punishments, and enforces & makes rules
  • Sysadmin – manages the back-end and is an all-around amazing wizard
  • Owner – primary sponsor of the server
Can I request to be a Mod or Admin?

Please do not ask Mods or Admins (or anyone else) about coming on board to help manage the server. We get a lot of requests and we already have most of what we need in terms of manpower for managing things. In other words, we’ll call you, don’t call us.   😉

How big is the map?

The map is new as of March, 2018, and it has a fairly small boundary. We hope to open that boundary when 1.13 is released and our plugins catch up to development.

Should I donate?

Feel free to donate! Use this link* to find out how. Being a “Donator” gives you a slightly better in-game experience, but the money is not used to directly support the server. Instead, it goes towards the maintenance of this website and other services.
(*Donations are not yet set up)

How do you communicate?

Of course, we all can chat in-game. We also have a Discord server which we use as a primary form of communication between management and also for players. It has a music channel too! You may connect at this link.

Where can I build?

Please build anywhere but SUPER close to Spawn. That means that you should not be able to see Spawn or any of its buildings when you first log in (they should not load on the horizon). We do not want Spawn to be overcrowded. If you build too close, we will likely ask you to move and may help you do so. Thanks!

Can I record or broadcast gameplay?

Absolutely! But we request that you turn off chat to protect the identities of those players who might not want to be broadcasted publicly. Please respect this rule and the privacy of others. Violations may result in bans.

Are there command blocks?

No.

Someone stole my things and/or griefed my structure! What can I do?

If you were robbed or vandalized, please report the offending party to the Mods, Admins, or Owner. The best way to do that is by using Discord. If you do not know who the perpetrator is, let us know and we will try to figure something out to help. PLEASE PROTECT YOUR THINGS! Ultimately, the server Admins are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

How is that player flying?!

If you see someone flying, it is likely an Admin. Admins have the power of flight and usually only use it to resolve issues in a way that affords less trouble and more time.

Can I build in the End?

Go ahead! At your own risk, of course…

Are there map resets?

We plan to run this map for a long time. So no, not really.

Can I spawn a wither boss?

You may do so at your own peril. We only ask that you do not do so in a place that has the potential to threaten the possessions or well being of other players. You are responsible for any damage you or your creation may cause.

Can I claim this village/temple/monument/fortress/stronghold/end city?

Different naturally spawning structures have different rules.

Villages / Desert Temples / Jungle Temples / Igloos: You are allowed to claim, build on, loot, or live in these structures.

Strongholds are Community Property & cannot be claimed!
There are only 3 strongholds on the entire server, so while you are welcome to hunt them down, & loot the chests, these are to remain in place for everyone to visit.

Nether Fortresses are Community Property & cannot be claimed.
In the nether traveling 1 block equals traveling 8 blocks in the overworld. This means that while most of us are spread out in the overworld, the nether brings us all a lot closer. You’ll never know exactly where another player’s portal will pop up.
Likewise, the Blaze Spawners at the Nether Fortresses are community property. You can set them up for farming the blazes for rods & XP drops, but do so understanding that others in the area may use it as well. You may even work with your neighbors in setting up a blaze spawner. In the same respect, if you should see that a blaze spawner has been set up for farming, please do not break anything or alter it in any way without the permission of the one who built it, or an admin if they are not available. If you build a farm, please designate that you did so with a sign.

Ocean monuments are free to take, plunder, and improve upon. Feel free to harvest their materials, create a farm, or convert them into a sweet ocean-home!
